Asylum Earth: Aftermath: Manhattan Protocol

This is the latest and greatest box for the game, which should be arriving at my door on Monday, according to Fedex. Hey folks, it's been a while, and I've had my ups and downs these days. I've worked so hard to get this game done, but I feel it's probably not quite ready for prime time. If the game arrives Monday, I'll be setting it up and playing it to see how it works.

That's a nailbiter for sure, even though I've got all the instructions and the artwork as close to finished as I can get it. I'm just not sure about the board yet. But, time will tell and I'll be doing my best to make sense of it all and get it out there on the Game Crafter website for now until I can put it for sale on Amazon, Walmart, etc.

I also dug up several other games I had designed years ago that I'm looking to finish, also. Those games sat inside a slow HP laptop I'm still nursing and extracting files from. I'm in the middle of switching out to Windows 11 on my desktop, and I need a new keyboard and mouse that are on their way today.

There's so much to tell about this new version of the game, but until I lay it out and give it a whirl in real time, I just don't know where it stands.

Luckily, the book, Asylum Earth: Age of the Apocalypse, has been out on Amazon for several weeks, parked until I get the game going in full swing so I can promote both the game and the book at the same time. Although my focus is on the board game for now. It's all quite the undertaking that needs to fall into place, but there are always delays and problems to be had along the way. Right now, the promotional video is finished, but its conversion to MP4 by Filmora is a bit dubious, to say the least.

Filmora claims that I have not purchased enough digital assets to convert the video to MP4 format, which is not accurate. So, as it stands, I'm trying to fix that glitch.

Much more to come, folks. Standby for the best part.

Asylum Earth-- Aftermath: Manhattan Protocol

Asylum Earth's New Look

It's collaboration at its finest. When AI meets my imagination, anything goes, as you can see here. Yes, it's been a while since I posted any updates about my board game, Asylum Earth. Mainly, I haven't had the chance to make any progress with it until I had this brilliant idea. After mulling it over for some time, I finally decided to bring in AI to give me a helping hand, and the rest is history.

That's not to say there are no more challenges because AI produces challenges of its own as it develops your new vision, so in a way, AI is a double-edged sword, but in a good way. In this case, AI has helped me see a finish line that has evaded me for quite some time.

Here's the new game board as proposed by AI. After some tweaking, it's manageable, and I like its aesthetics and everything that goes with it, e.g., Event Cards, tokens, game play, and so on. So I'm slowly chipping away at these new ideas and integrating them with all my artwork. So far, I've finished the box, top, and bottom, which have mostly stayed the same for the exception of a new sub-title.

So the main difference is the Event Cards and some of the tokens; otherwise, the original game and its characters remain the same. In fact, AI has integrated my artwork nicely.

Asylum Earth - Manhattan Protocol - The Boardgame Lives

Final Draft Box
Happy New Year, folks. We made it, and we're on to newer and better things. There's simply no time to waste, so with a little help from AI, I've managed to reimagine and recast Asylum Earth, now also named Aftermath: Manhattan Protocol.

It's amazing how many iterations of this game I've come up with, but as I've always said, as long as it improves the game, anything goes. It's certainly a work in progress, and I love the outcome so far. I've got all new cards, tokens, rules, and a new rulebook. Let's face it, everything has changed except the theme, of course.

You just can't argue with improvements. It's a matter of time again to get everything in place and keep forging ahead to the finish line.

I've got plenty of new images to post and even more to talk about, but I'll keep things brief since I've got quite a bit of work to do. I'd like to post this new cover and a bit of the new artwork.

I have plenty more to change here on the Blog, so I'll get to it.

Keep the faith, my friends. Remember that winners don't quit. If you believe in yourself and keep reaching for the finish line, you'll get there sooner or later. Nothing lasts forever. Not even hard times.

Semper Fi.
